All they had to do was MEDAL at the Olympic games to get out of their compulsory military service, which is 21 months btw, and not 2 years. They were able to achieve that with their 2-0 defeat of Japan in the Bronze medal game. Bronze medal, they return home as heroes, and no military service. Fair play to them.
